The piney and resinous notes of juniper berries combine perfectly with the sweet notes of cocoa beans, resulting in a union between a classic gin flavour of gin forms and chocolate. 1528 has got a nice smooth texture and a delicious aroma.
1528 is a gin liqueur made using a cold compound gin and a neutral grain spirit, infused with Domori cocoa beans and sugar. It’s cut back to 16% ABV with spring water.
History and curiosities
1528 Cocoa Gin Liqueur is a project of Picogrammo, a small company that produces biscuits and other delicacies in Salerno. The creators are two PhD students of the Medical School of Salerno and they love gin and chocolate so much that they decided to produce a chocolate gin, called PhD Gin, and a gin liqueur, 1528. The products are distilled by Mistico Speziale, a well-known craft italian spirits producer. The cocoa beans are bought from the renowned chocolate company Domori, from Piedmont.
