Gin Agricolo Blagheur is the herbaceous gin of the trilogy with Evra Gin and Gadan Gin. On the nose the juniper notes are balanced with the spicy notes of cumin and coriander and the fresh notes of mint and zedoaria. On the palate it’s dry and strong, lightened by the floral notes of rose, marjoram, orris and arquebuse. The aftertaste is slightly herbaceous and minty. The final is long and fresh, with an enduring grassy note.
Almost all botanicals are cultivated in Piedmont. Blagheur is a Distilled Compound Gin: juniper berries are distilled with the neutral alcohol, while the other botanicals are steeped separately in alcohol at room temperature. In the end all the distillates are blended together according to the recipe.
History and curiosities
Gin Agricolo is Franco Cavallero’s project, based on his experience in Cantine Sant’Agata, Cavallero’s family’s wine company. Blagheur, in Piedmont dialect, means a vain person who loves to show off and live beyond his means. Blagheur Gin is made with the best botanicals in Piedmont. The botanicals that are not available indigenously at the moment are being planted in the family’s estate so as to be available in the near future. Gin Agricolo Blagheur is perfect neat at the end of supper or mixed in a G&T.
